About Us
The Association of Iranian Film and Theatre Artists Abroad (AIFTAA) is an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit association of Iranian film and theatre artists and professionals living and working abroad.
AIFTAA is a professional, freedom-oriented association. Despite differences in political views and perspectives, its members are united in supporting artists’ rights, freedom of expression and artistic creation, and in opposing censorship and authoritarianism.
The Association is registered in Sweden and may establish branches in other countries.
Why We Came Together
AIFTAA was founded in 2022 alongside the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, at a time when the need for solidarity with artists and people under pressure in Iran became increasingly urgent.
“Woman, Life, Freedom” marked the beginning of our journey, but our work is not limited to one movement or one moment in history. Without partisan or ideological bias, AIFTAA supports popular protests in Iran against the Islamic Republic regime and stands against repression, censorship, and violations of freedom of expression.
Our Activities
Playwriting Competition & Theatre Festival
We have organized two editions of a playwriting competition, creating opportunities for playwrights to present their work and gain visibility. In the future, we aim to develop selected plays into live theatre productions and present them as part of a theatre festival.

Statements
We publish statements and take public positions in defense of freedom of expression and artists under pressure, against censorship, and in support of popular protests in Iran against the Islamic Republic regime, without partisan or ideological bias.

International Film Festival
We organize an international film festival across cities and continents, connecting filmmakers and audiences worldwide. Held annually between the anniversaries of Mahsa Jina Amini’s birth and killing, the festival opens in Brisbane and closes in Stockholm.

We plan to expand educational workshops and professional programs, and to create a database and professional network that helps Iranian film and theatre artists around the world connect, collaborate, and create new opportunities.

Independence & Funding
AIFTAA is an independent, non-profit association. Its activities are funded through annual membership fees, unconditional grants and donations from individuals and legal entities, financial support from institutions and organizations that support artists, and income-generating activities consistent with the Association’s objectives.
Any income remaining after operating expenses is used to develop the Association’s activities and further its objectives.
Governance
The General Assembly is the Association’s highest decision-making body, and AIFTAA is governed democratically in accordance with its Statutes.
The Association has six governing bodies: the Founders, the General Assembly, the Board, the Auditor, the Arbitration Council, and the Statute Council. Its activities are governed by its Statutes and by the laws and regulations applicable to non-profit associations in Sweden.

درباره ما
کانون هنرمندان ایرانی فیلم و تئاتر برونمرز (AIFTAA) انجمنی مستقل، غیردولتی، غیرحزبی و غیرانتفاعی متشکل از هنرمندان و فعالان حرفهای ایرانی حوزه فیلم و تئاتر است که در خارج از ایران زندگی و فعالیت میکنند.
کانون، نهادی صنفی و آزادیخواه است. اعضای آن، با وجود تفاوت در دیدگاهها و نگرشهای سیاسی، در حمایت از حقوق هنرمندان، آزادی بیان و آفرینش هنری و در مخالفت با سانسور و اقتدارگرایی اشتراک نظر دارند.
کانون در سوئد به ثبت رسیده است و میتواند در کشورهای دیگر نیز شعبه تأسیس کند.
چرا گرد هم آمدیم
کانون در سال ۲۰۲۲ و همزمان با جنبش «زن، زندگی، آزادی» شکل گرفت؛ در زمانی که ضرورت همبستگی با هنرمندان و مردمی که در ایران تحت فشار و سرکوب قرار داشتند، بیش از پیش احساس میشد.
«زن، زندگی، آزادی» نقطه آغاز مسیر ما بود، اما فعالیت ما به یک جنبش یا یک مقطع تاریخی محدود نمیشود. کانون، بدون سوگیری حزبی یا ایدئولوژیک، از اعتراضهای مردمی در ایران علیه رژیم جمهوری اسلامی حمایت میکند و در برابر سرکوب، سانسور و نقض آزادی بیان میایستد.
فعالیتهای ما
مسابقه نمایشنامهنویسی و جشنواره تئاتر
کانون تاکنون دو دوره مسابقه نمایشنامهنویسی برگزار کرده است تا فرصتی برای ارائه آثار و دیدهشدن نمایشنامهنویسان فراهم کند. در آینده، قصد داریم نمایشنامههای منتخب را به اجراهای زنده تئاتری تبدیل کنیم و آنها را در قالب یک جشنواره تئاتر به روی صحنه ببریم.

بیانیهها
کانون با انتشار بیانیهها و اعلام مواضع عمومی، از آزادی بیان و هنرمندان تحت فشار دفاع میکند، در برابر سانسور میایستد و بدون سوگیری حزبی یا ایدئولوژیک، از اعتراضهای مردمی در ایران علیه رژیم جمهوری اسلامی حمایت میکند.

جشنواره بینالمللی فیلم
کانون جشنوارهای بینالمللی را در شهرها و قارههای مختلف برگزار میکند و فیلمسازان و مخاطبان را در سراسر جهان به یکدیگر پیوند میدهد. این جشنواره هر سال در فاصله میان سالگرد تولد و کشتهشدن مهسا ژینا امینی برگزار میشود؛ از بریزبن آغاز میشود و در استکهلم به پایان میرسد.

برنامههای آینده ما
در نظر داریم کارگاههای آموزشی و برنامههای حرفهای را گسترش دهیم و یک پایگاه داده و شبکه حرفهای ایجاد کنیم تا هنرمندان ایرانی فیلم و تئاتر در سراسر جهان بتوانند با یکدیگر ارتباط برقرار کنند، همکاری کنند و فرصتهای تازهای ایجاد کنند.

استقلال و تأمین مالی
کانون نهادی مستقل و غیرانتفاعی است. فعالیتهای آن از طریق حق عضویت سالانه، کمکها و اعانههای بدون قید و شرط اشخاص حقیقی و حقوقی، حمایت مالی نهادها و سازمانهای حامی هنرمندان و همچنین فعالیتهای درآمدزای همسو با اهداف کانون تأمین مالی میشود.
هرگونه درآمد باقیمانده پس از پرداخت هزینههای جاری، برای توسعه فعالیتهای کانون و پیشبرد اهداف آن به کار گرفته میشود.
ساختار و اداره کانون
مجمع عمومی بالاترین مرجع تصمیمگیری کانون است و کانون مطابق اساسنامه خود و بر پایه سازوکارهای دموکراتیک اداره میشود.
کانون دارای شش رکن است: مؤسسان، مجمع عمومی، هیئتمدیره، بازرس، شورای داوری و شورای اساسنامه. فعالیتهای کانون بر اساس اساسنامه و قوانین و مقررات مربوط به انجمنهای غیرانتفاعی در سوئد انجام میشود.
عضویت در کانون
اگر هنرمند یا فعال حرفهای ایرانی در حوزه فیلم یا تئاتر هستید و خارج از ایران زندگی میکنید، به کانون بپیوندید و بخشی از جامعه بینالمللی ما باشید.
